Carolyn M. Skigen (Sigsway) of Shelton died after a long illness Friday September 9, 2016 in Derby, CT. Peacefully with her children by her side. Carolyn was born on October 17, 1940 in Norwalk to the late Charles and Mildred Nagy Sigsway. She lived in Norwalk until she moved to Denver, CO, to marry Mark Skigen. They raised their children Craig and Terri in Fairfield CT. She worked at Bridgeport Post as a book keeper. She also had her own consignment business before it was in Vogue. She loved good conversations, a good laugh, good food, tennis and being by the ocean. She was amazing at handling all that life threw at her.
She leaves her son Craig Skigen and his wife Stacy, her daughter Terri and her husband Fred Clark, her grandchildren Paige and Wyatt Clark which she adored. She leaves behind her brother Ronald Sigsway and wife Marel of West Palm Beach, FL, her sister Diane and husband Michael Newman, their daughters Krista and Erika of Texas, sister Cynthia Canterberry of Palm Beach Gardens. Her sister-in- law Lou Sigsway and Daughter Lisa of Bradenton, Florida. Carolyn was predeceased by her brother, Charles Sigsway.
Calling hours will take place on Saturday September 17, 2016 from 2 to 4pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport. Services will take place in the funeral home on Saturday at 3:30pm, interment will be private.
