Obituary for Maria Rivas-Ortiz

Maria Rivas-Ortiz, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 20, 2016 at Maefair Health Care Center n Trumbull. Born in Yabucoa, P.R. in 1925, she relocated to Bridgeport in 1952 where she worked and raised her children. Maria was predeceased by her husband of many years Agustin Rivas and her son Auguie. She is survived by her loving daughter Norma and her husband Alfonso Garcia of Shelton, grandsons Rodney and his wife Astrid Garcia of Shelton, Kenneth Garcia of Fla., two granddaughters Vivian and Mildred Rivas of P.R. and five great grandchildren. Sincere thanks and appreciation to Maefair ‘staff, especially the CNAs on the second floor for their compassionate care and genuine concern. Also, CT Hospice’ staff for their support and personal involvement.
