Theresa Scianna age 97 of Trumbull, beloved wife of 65 years to the late Thomas Scianna passed away on Saturday December 10 2016 in St. Joseph’s Center. Theresa was born on November 4, 1919 in Bridgeport to the late Benjamin and Angelina Ariano. Theresa resided in Trumbull for over 50 years! Theresa had a superb life, she and her husband loved to get in the car and drive to various towns to explore local dining, shopping and walking. Theresa also enjoyed going to the Shelton Senor Center frequently to play bingo with her friends.
Theresa was a devoted wife and mother and was and accomplished seamstress, a career of over 40 years. Theresa cherished every moment with her family especially holidays. She was an excellent baker, especially her apple cake, rice Easter pie and Italian cookies!
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Cecelia and her husband Samuel Cooper of Shelton. She will also be missed by her grandson Arthur James and his wife Anna and her great grandchildren Thomas and Christina James of Newtown and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Center, Trumbull for their kind and compassionate care. Theresa was liked and loved for her friendliness towards her caregivers and her smiled warmed their hearts.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday morning December 14, 2016 from 930am to 1030am in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport. Services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 1030am followed by interment in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Easton.
