Dimitrios P. Tzavellas age 73 of Trumbull, loving husband to Roula Tzavellas passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Born on November 15, 1944 in Athens Greece, he was the son of the late Panagiotis and Maria Tzavellas. While being self-employed, Dimitrios was a gifted artist and his artwork can be viewed in many homes, business’s, and churches including our local Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Dimitrios valued his life-long friendships, and was passionate about sports and Greek music.
In addition to his loving wife Roula of 46 yrs, he leaves behind his two children Maria and John Peter Tzavellas. He also is survived by his niece Maria, and 2 nephews Panagiotis and Dimitrios Tzavellas in Athens, Greece. He was predeceased by his brother Lazaros Tzavellas.
Calling hours will take place on Monday March 5, 2018 from 4 to 8pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home 4798 Main St. Bridgeport with Trisagion services at 7 pm in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10am in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport with Fr. Georgios Livaditis Presbyter officiating followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Luncheon to follow at Church at 12:30 pm.
