Phyllis A. Brennan, age 73, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Edward J. Brennan III for 48 years, died peacefully at her home in Monroe, CT. Phyllis was born January 20, 1945 in Bridgeport, daughter of Helen (Tolczyk) Norko and the late George Norko, and had been a lifetime area resident. For many years, Phyllis was known to many in the local community as the office manager in the busy doctors’ office of Northeast Medical Group (originally known as The Offices of Drs. Dorosario, Gabriel and Rosa on Main Street in Bridgeport, CT), where she found purpose and friendship. She loved beaches, her dogs Miles and Brody, and her family. In addition to her 102-year-old mother, Phyllis is survived by her daughter Gwen Kauffman and her husband Kyle, Marissa Gillispie and her husband Stephen, Jennifer Edwards and her husband Jonathan with her grandson Joshua and granddaughter Abbey, and her son Tom Brennan and his wife Brigid with her granddaughter Annika. Phyllis was predeceased by her only sibling, Thomas Norko, and namesake for her son, Tom Brennan.
At Phyllis’s request, private services and entombment occurred at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull, CT, with the Rev. Lori R. Miller, Pastor of Newtown’s United Methodist Church, as celebrant.
